In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the water and brown sugar. Stir occasionally until the sugar has completely dissolved—about 4–5 minutes.
Once the mixture comes to a light simmer, reduce the heat to low and let it cook for another 5–7 minutes. This will help thicken the syrup slightly and deepen the flavor.
Remove the pan from heat and stir in the Bourbon Vanilla Bean Paste. Mix until fully incorporated.
Let the syrup cool completely, then pour it into a glass jar or bottle with a tight-fitting lid. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
