Brown Sugar Blueberry Syrup
Equipment
- Measuring Cups
- pot
- strainer
- dispenser
Ingredients
- 2 cups blueberries fresh or frozen
- 1/2 cup brown sugar light or dark
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the blueberries, brown sugar, and water.
- Bring to a gental boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer. Let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. The blueberries will burst and the mixture will thicken some.
- Stir in the lemon juice the last minute if simmering.
- Pour the mixture through a mesh strainer. Smush the blueberries to get all the liquid out.
- Let the syrup cool in the fridge before using, about 30-40 minutes.
- Store in a mason jar or dispensers in the fridge for up to a week.
